Asbestos
Removal.

Licensed asbestos removal for homes, apartments, office buildings, and industrial properties throughout New York. Done right, documented, and cleared.

What We Remove

Asbestos was used in thousands of building materials from the 1930s through the late 1980s. If your property was built before 1990, there's a real chance it contains asbestos somewhere — and disturbing it during renovation, demolition, or a water event can release fibers into the air.

We remove every common form of asbestos-containing material safely, legally, and with full documentation.

  • Popcorn & textured ceilings
  • Vinyl floor tiles & mastic
  • Pipe insulation & boiler wrap
  • Vermiculite attic insulation
  • Asbestos siding & roofing
  • Transite panels & ductwork
  • Joint compound & drywall
  • Fire doors & firestop material
  • HVAC insulation
  • Electrical panel backing

How Removal Works

Every asbestos removal project we run follows the same strict protocol — whether it's a single popcorn ceiling in a Brooklyn apartment or a full pipe insulation abatement in a Manhattan office tower.

  1. 01

    Assessment & Written Quote

We inspect the site in person, identify materials, and give you a detailed written estimate with no surprises.

  2. 02

    Notifications & Permits

We file all required state and local asbestos notifications before any work begins — a legal requirement that unlicensed contractors often skip.

  3. 03

    Containment Setup

We build a sealed enclosure with polyethylene sheeting, HEPA-filtered negative air machines, and dedicated decontamination chambers.

  4. 04

    Wet Removal

Materials are wetted to suppress fiber release, then carefully removed, bagged, and double-sealed in leak-tight containers.

  5. 05

    HEPA Cleaning

After removal, the entire work area is HEPA-vacuumed and wet-wiped multiple times until visibly clean.

  6. 06

    Third-Party Air Clearance

An independent air monitor tests the air to confirm fiber levels meet federal and state clearance standards.

  7. 07

    Disposal & Documentation

Waste is transported via Codi Transport to an EPA-approved facility. You get a full documentation packet.

Why Exal

There are plenty of asbestos removal companies in New York. What makes us different is simple: this is a family business, and we've been doing it for more than three decades.

Julio Lopez, our founder, has worked in asbestos since 1989 — including on the Ground Zero cleanup after September 11th. His son Ethan works alongside him on every job. We don't subcontract. We don't cut corners. We don't leave a site until it's cleared by an independent air monitor.

Free on-site estimate.
No obligation.
